Lennox Head is located on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, midway between Byron Bay and Ballina.  The Lennox Head-Alstonville Surf Life Saving Club (the 'Club') was formed in December, 1973. The first official Meeting of the Club was held on 7 January, 1974, with nearly 100 Members in attendance. The original cost of the Club was $49,320, which was made up of $6000 in funds from Members and Sponsors and $43,320 from the Federal Government. The Club was originally built on large concrete skids (still visible today) that would enable the building to be towed away by bulldozers should rising seas threaten! The land the Club is sited on is ‘owned’ by the NSW Department of Lands with Ballina Shire Council effectively acting as Trustees of the building.

Lennox Head-Alstonville SLSCThe Club itself is situated at the northern end of town, on a narrow spit of land wedged between the fresh water tea-tree Lake Ainsworth and the Pacific Ocean.  The Club Membership provides volunteer patrols over the regular Surf Life Saving Season, approximately the end of September to the end of April each year.  These patrols are conducted on weekends and Public Holidays.

The area is blessed with a temperate sub-tropical climate, white sandy beaches, a world renowned surf break in a relaxed family atmosphere. Seven Mile Beach, Lake Ainsworth and the Lennox Point Surfing Reserve attract both domestic and international tourists all year round.   As the local population has rapidly expanded the village has become increasingly busier, as has the use of our aquatic environment.

MEMBER SECTION ACCESS & LOGIN: Financial Club members are able to access information that is restricted from general public browsing (eg: Patrol Member contact details, Committee information, specific Club Documents, etc) by logging into the 'Members Section' of this site.  Upon request Members will be provided with a Passphrase that will allow them to self register and login.  Simply enter that Passphrase into the "New Member Access" area positioned to the right of this Home Page to commence your registration.  To obtain the current Passphrase please contact any Club Management Committee Member or the Club's Website Coordinator, Glenn Moriarty.
